Planview Quilt Finish from Dizzy Quilts

For the past few years, I have participated in Quilting Jetgirl's QALs and I have to say, they've never disappointed. This year, the quilt pattern is Planview and it is awesome!

The pattern comes in 6 different sizes, from wall hanging to King. I chose to make the baby size because I thought it would be easier to manage given everything else I had going on over the last few months. But Yvonne's QALs are broken-down in easy to complete steps and she provide more than enough time to get each step done before publishing the next ...

2021 Goal Review and 2022 Goals from Quilting Affection

Happy New Year, everybody! As I wind down the year, I'm looking back on my goals from last year and making some new ones. Then I join my technique pattern editor, Yvonne, who blogs at Quilting Jetgirl, for an Annual Planning Party link-up.

Let's start with my 2021 goals.

Looking back on my 2021 goals, I see they shifted a little bit during the year. I set three goals for 2021, the main goal, three secondary goals. Let's look at these goals and how they worked out this year.

My main goal for the year was to ...

Bokeh Quilt Finish from Dizzy Quilts

Back in the Fall, Yvonne from Quilting Jetgirl launched her annual quilt-along. I've participated in her quilt-alongs a couple of times now and when I saw this year's design, I just had to take part again. This year's pattern is called Bokeh. The quilt-along wrapped up just a few days ago and Yvonne is hosting a link-up party on her blog so that all the participants can share their finished quilt.

All of the fabrics I chose for my version came from my stash and the background is Kona White.

The middle blocks came together very easily ...

Downstream Quilt Finish from Dizzy Quilts

This week's quilt finish is my new favourite! I've always been attracted to very graphic, modern and all-solid quilt designs and this one definitely fits all of the above characteristics.

The pattern is by Yvonne from Quilting Jetgirl. I'm a huge fan of Yvonne's work and this design had been on my to make list for a little while. But for some reason, I thought this would be incredibly difficult and take a long time to sew. It really didn't! The design is so clever - it's really all about colour choices and colour placement ...

Oh Happy Day! Quilt Finish from Dizzy Quilts

The quilt I'm sharing today had been on my list for a long time - since November 2016 to be exact. It was the quilt of the month Modern Quilt Guild members had access to and because I'm a huge fan of its designer - Yvonne Fuchs from Quilting Jetgirl - I just had to download it. Yvonne has since added the pattern to her shop here. It's a great quilt with fabulous instructions - I highly recommend it.

Yvonne's version was in a gorgeous orange and cream. When I flipped through my Kona card, the Emerald green really spoke ...

Tire Tracks Quilt from Dizzy Quilts

When Yvonne from Quilting Jetgirl released her Tire Tracks quilt pattern back in June, I immediately clicked the Buy button. But then it took a little bit of time for the project to make it to the top of the queue.

For my version of the quilt, I chose to make the baby quilt size with Kona Ash as the background and Kona Cardinal.

The pattern looks really complicated, but it's actually quite simple. I followed Yvonne's instructions step-by-step and even labelled my blocks as I was making them. So when it came time to put the top ...

Push-Pull Quilt Finish from Dizzy Quilts

Back on October 2019, Yvonne from Quilting Jetgirl announced her Push-Pull Quilt-Along. I've been following Yvonne's blog for a long time and I own a number of her patterns because I just love her design style. So when I saw the Push-Pull Quilt-Along announcement, I knew I had to participate.

I'm not usually very good at keeping up with quilt-alongs. I'm super motivated at the beginning and then end-up getting behind and just abandoning the project. But I loved making this one - the piecing isn't complicated at all and the monthly instructions were the perfect ...

Incredible Stitches! from Needle and Foot

While I don’t have any work of my own to share this week, I do want to pop in and show you something pretty! As program coordinator for our guild, I have scheduled Cindy Needham to come teach a workshop in February for us. I scheduled this a long while back and felt fortunate even then to be worked into her full teaching/speaking schedule. Luckily for us, Cindy lives only two hours from here which made her very affordable for our guild.

Mini quilt pieced and quilted by Cindy Needham.

Anyway, on to the good stuff! When I ...

Push Pull QAL has Begun from Needle and Foot

You may have seen the promotions of the Push Pull Quilt Along on social media over the past couple of weeks. This quilt along is being hosted by Yvonne Fuchs of Quilting Jetgirl. She is well known for her striking use of transparency technique to achieve a look of layered colors in her quilt design. Her Push Pull design also uses transparency to achieve that effect.

I like the pace of this event. She is sending out instructions approximately every three weeks. It is different in that this is a purchased pattern. I bought mine this week and look forward ...
